Zagreb

The first days

Our first day in Zagreb was filled with many pleasant experiences. We are staying in a very cute and welcoming b&b that is a twenty minute
Walk to the city centre. The old part of Zagreb is fascinating with a lot of pedestrian zones, cafes, and action. There is a lot of old world charm here! We found a great little restaurant for lunch - everybody enjoyed their meal! Mike & I ventured out a little later in the evening and, after wandering down narrow, cobblestone streets &.climbing stairs, discovered a street concert. This was a nice surprise. We were not sure if the band was a Croation sensation of a cover band- everyone seemed to know the tunes though. We enjoyed the walk home, exploring the streets a bit more.
The kids are happy although they find it a bit too hot. We were supposed to wake up early today to beat the heat & go for a run. Instead over half the family is still sleeping. The boys are unable to nap so they are still adjusting.
Today we leave for Varazdin, a small city in the north. We are looking forward to this as there is a castle to explore nearby. We have also heard of a festival going on so it should be fun!
The journey is off to a great start, Zagrb is a great city and we are looking forward to heading North.
